Indian American Toddler Dies in Car Crash in Nevada; Mother Critical in ICU

A young Indian American mother is battling for her life after a car crash on Christmas Day in Nevada that left her two-year-old son dead. Shravya Muthyala, her husband Ravinder Muthyala, and their son Aarav met with the accident while returning from Las Vegas to their home in Irvine, California, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help the family. The accident occurred at Las Vegas Boulevard, a major road in Clark County, according to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol. 

Aarav died on the spot, the GoFundMe page said, while Shravya Muthyala is in “very critical condition” in the ICU, “battling for her life.” Her husband Ravinder Muthyala survived minor injuries.

“In this hour of inexplicable pain and grief, we want to support the family and reduce some of the financial distress that her family is currently facing,” read the fundraiser page, set up by Sharmila Dastagir on behalf of Ravinder Muthyala. The money raised will be used for Shravya’s medical expenses.

The page however does not give any details about the Muthyala family.

A day after Christmas, three Indian Americans after falling through the ice on a lake in Arizona. Narayana Muddana, his wife Haritha Muddana and their friend Gokul Mediseti were reportedly walking on the frozen Woods Canyon Lake, about 30 miles from the central Arizona city of Payson when they fell through and plunged into the frigid water.
