Bollywood A-lister Deepika Padukone made a statement at Sunday’s British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The “Fighter” actress looked stunning in a sequin white Sabyasachi sari with a matching backless blouse. She completed the look with kohl-rimmed eyes, messy hair bun and statement earrings.
She presented director Jonathan Glazer with the award for Best Film Not In The English Language for “The Zone Of Interest.” The film, a 2023 historical drama written and directed by Jonathan Glazer, is loosely based on the 2014 novel by Martin Amis. Other nominees were “20 Days in Mariupol,” ‘”Anatomy of a Fall,” “Past Lives,” and “Society of the Snow.”
Last year, she took the Oscars stage to present the foot-tapping mass anthem “Naatu Naatu” from “RRR,” in the Best Original Song category. She wore a Rohit Bal creation at her very first Cannes Film Festival years ago in a Sabyasachi sari, and followed it by an Abu-Sandeep look while serving on the Cannes jury in 2022.
Padukone was recently seen in the aerial action thriller “Fighter,” opposite Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also starred Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles. She will be next seen in the sci-fi action thriller “Kalki 2898 AD” alongside Prabhas. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan. The film is scheduled for a May 9 release.
