Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha and Ni: An Interpretation of Bach

Having grown up with strong roots in Indian Classical Music I always found that my knowledge of this theoretical system and its aural training merits really informed the way I perceived western music – particularly complex passages such as those written by Bach. Singing these pieces was always such a welcome challenge for me and I quickly found Bach to become one of my favorite composers. In this video I demonstrate how the Indian pitch syllables are attributed accordingly to this rhythmically and tonally complex masterpiece — originally written for 4 voices. Featuring Jessica Korotkin on Cello.
