“I believe that there is immense power behind the spoken word,” Chopra said in a statement, as reported by Variety. “Emotions are tethered to the human voice. This is why I chose to share my insights and experiences through the audio medium, and develop passion projects with Audible.”
Audible’s deal with Chopra “represents a major investment in the expansion of its original wellness content, rolling out this September,” Variety reported.
Other projects as part of the deal include “a short-form memoir about his quest for inner freedom and a poetry project featuring notable guests and friends of Chopra,” Variety reported.
Chopra, 74, is the author of 91 books, including “Total Meditation: Practices in Living the Awakened Life” (Penguin Random House’s Harmony Books) published last year. He is the founder of the Chopra Foundation, a non-profit organization for research on well-being and humanitarianism, and Chopra Global described as “a health company at the intersection of science and spirituality.”
