- The surgeon who reportedly fixed the noses of Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Cameron Diaz, spent over $70 million to build the modern dream house and is paying millions each month just towards upkeep.
Celebrity plastic surgeon Raj Kanodia, 60, who made a name for himself providing natural-looking fillers and scarless “closed rhinoplasty” (aka cosmetic surgery on the nose) nose jobs for some of the biggest names in Hollywood—has fallen victim to the steep real estate price cuts plaguing home owners in pandemic 2020.
Once a beacon of LA’s high-end building boom, the prominent doctor built a 34,000-square-foot mega mansion home in a ritzy neighborhood in Bel Air “in hopes of flipping it for profit,” as noted by the Wall Street Journal.
More than a year after it was listed for an astronomical $180 million, the ‘For Sale’ sign is still up. And now the desperate Kanodia is slashing the price to a paltry $99 million.
According to media reports, when his neighbor, Bruce Makowsky, sold his swanky mega mansion for less than half its original asking price, it was then that Dr. Kanodia apparently decided to trim a few million off his top price.
Kanodia reportedly spent over $70 million to build the modern dream house and is paying millions each month just towards upkeep. And while he’s willing to consider accepting offers of $120 million ($60 million less than the original asking price), he tells the Wall Street Journal that he believes the glass palace is worth the high price tag.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the spectacular glass house has nine bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, and a 2,000-bottle wine cellar. The exterior of the house is a combination of Portuguese limestone and glass, and the entryway boasts 29-foot ceilings. And it only gets more lavish, and more dramatic from there.
The large open main space features multiple living rooms, dining rooms, and studies, all with floor-to-ceiling windows, many of which open to the outside. Elsewhere you can find a full-fledged spa, a movie theater, a gym designed by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, and not one, but three kitchens!
In the master suite, you can lie in bed and have an unobstructed view of downtown Los Angeles. The wall of glass retracts to allow for seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Outside, Kanodia has created a large infinity pool and reportedly flew in exotic plants and trees from his homeland, India, to be planted on the lush grounds. And, according to the listing, you get “views spanning the snow-capped mountains of the Angeles forest to the offshore oasis of Catalina.”
