Mystery Thriller ‘Kadak Singh,’ Staring Pankaj Tripathi, is Now Streaming On Zee5 Global
- The streaming platform’s current lineup also includes Punjabi film “Buhe Bariyan.”
Mystery thriller “Kadak Singh,” starring Pankaj Tripathi, is currently streaming on Zee5 Global. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the film recently unveiled its much-awaited trailer at the opening ceremony of the 54th International Film Festival of India [IFFI], Goa. Along with Tripathi, the film also stars a host of national award-winning actors like Parvathy Thiruvothu and Bangladeshi actor, Jaya Ahsan along with Sanjana Sanghi in the lead role and Dilip Shankar, Paresh Pahuja and Varun Buddhadev in prominent supporting roles.

The ZEE5 original film follows the life of A.K. Shrivastav aka Kadak Singh, a Joint Director at the Department of Financial Crimes, who is currently battling retrograde amnesia. The film unfolds as A.K. is admitted to the hospital and is presented with conflicting narratives about his past, compelling him to discern fact from fiction. Amidst the maze of half-baked memories, he is determined to uncover the truth behind him mysteriously landing up in a hospital and behind a significant financial crime, all of this while saving his family from falling apart. It is also the story of a dysfunctional family and how they come closer due to a series of unforeseen events leading to a rollercoaster of emotions. The film highlights relationships in different forms and how these relationships provide different perspectives, helping the story move forward.
According to Tripathi, Kadak Singh is unlike anything he has played before. Describing Kodak Singh as “an unusual character,” he said it was “such joy portraying such a layered personality.” Additionally, he got to work with “some incredible talent including Tony Da, Parvathy, Jaya and the young and enthusiastic ones like Sanjana. Everyone’s combined energy and passion really transformed the film from the pages to the screen.”
For Thiruvothu, the experience of the film was “magical to say the least.” Noting that “Kadak Singh” was a “10/10 mark,” she lauded her co-stars. “I feel in the times we are living in, we are in dire need of master storytellers guiding us to stay in touch with our humanity.”
The platform has also added the Punjabi film “Buhe Bariyan” to the U.S. market, which highlights important issues that have crippled society where women are looked down upon and not treated well. It revolves around the lives of a group of women, played by ace artists from the film industry — Rubina Bajwa, Gurpreet Bhangu, Nirmal Rishi, Seema Kaushal, Rupinder Rupi, Dharminder Kaur, Baljinder Kaur, Malkeet Rauni, and Jaswinder Brarc— who have in some way, or the other been abused by either their partners or abused by the societies or in their marital homes. Prem Kaur (Neru Bajwa), an upright police officer, gets involved in the lives of these women and the story takes on from there.
“Kali Jotta,” also staring Bajwa, which was released earlier this year, and is now streaming on the OTT platform Chaupal, also showcased a “portrayal of women who could neither speak up about their traumas nor take any action as victims of domestic abuse.”
