Priyanka Chopra Jonas Hosts Intimate Birthday Dinner for Mama Chopra at Her Own N.Y. Restaurant
Bollywood’s very own glam girl and Hollywood transplant Priyanka Chopra Jonas hosted a belated birthday bash for mother Madhu Chopra at her newly opened New York restaurant, Sona, on June 26. Mama Chopra’s birthday is June 16.
The actor’s ‘famjam’ took place a day after she visited her restaurant for the very first time since its opening. The actor, looking resplendent in a white backless dress with a sexy thigh- high slit, was accompanied by dear friends and family as they enjoyed a candlelit meal at the restaurant.
While wishing her mom, who’s currently in India, on her birthday, Chopra Jonas wrote on her Instagram account, “Happy birthday mom. Missing our ritual of celebrating your special day together. Love you loads… see you real soon @drmadhuakhourichopra.” The actor kept her word. Shatrughan Sinha’s niece Preeta Sinha, who was present at the party shared inside photos and videos from the dinner. In a video, Chopra Jonas can be seen capturing the moment on her phone as the cake was brought in.
Chopra-Jonas’s fan pages also shared photos and videos from the get- together. Conspicuously missing from the festivities was Chopra-Jonas’s better-half, singer-songwriter hubby Nick Jonas, who is busy with professional commitments.
The Priyanka Chopra Jonas-owned Indian restaurant, Sona, opened its doors on March 26, 2021 in New York. The actor wasn’t present at the opening owing to her shooting commitments which required her to stay in the United Kingdom. During her first visit to the restaurant on Friday, June 25, Chopra Jonas was seen enjoying pani puri and dosa, among other dishes.
Sharing pictures on the restaurant’s official Instagram handle, Chopra Jonas penned a note to her fans. “Hi everyone! Priyanka Chopra Jonas here. Popping in to personally say hello and thank you all for your support and for helping to make SONA a success. Last night I finalllllllly got to experience the magic of SONA for myself since the opening. Everything was beyond my expectations and for a moment I felt like I was home in India.”
“It’s incredible how provocative taste and smell can be. SONA is truly an absolute dream come to life. It feels like only yesterday Maneesh, David, Chef Hari and I were discussing the initial idea of creating a fine dining destination for Indian food in NYC.
