Former Senior White House Aide Rohini Kosoglu Named Senior Advisor at Victory Sports Media
- She previously served as the former deputy assistant to President Joe Biden and former domestic policy advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris.
White House alumni Rohini Kosoglu has been named senior advisor at Victory Sports Media, the sports content production company announced this week. The Sri Lankan American previously served as the former deputy assistant to President Joe Biden and former domestic policy advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris. In her new role, she will âserve as both leader and liaison between the world of sports, entertainment, and policy to ensure that Victory’s content is impactful both on screen, as well as in society at large,â according to a company press release.
Founded by Jai Khanna and Parag Parikh, Victory Sports Media has made âa concerted effort to increase women’s sports content,â the press release said. Upcoming projects include a docuseries about HBCU’s women’s gymnastics, a documentary in development following the illustrious life of a current WNBA superstar and the already announced docuseries highlighting the Indian women’s cricket team U.P. Warriorz.
In a statement, Khanna said the company is âgratefulâ to have Kosogluâs
âenergy and expertise.â She âbrings her extensive knowledge of the breadth and depth of women’s policies and advocacy for equity and equality,â he added. âHer familiarity of geopolitical and industry trends along with her experience in navigating these issues at the highest levels imaginable will help to design and deliver forward-looking strategies for Victory.â
A seasoned leader with over 15 years of experience advising elected officials and candidates, Kosoglu has served in senior roles on national campaigns and Capitol Hill with expertise in managing large and complex organizations.
She became Harrisâs deputy chief of staff when she first joined the Senate in 2016, and moved up the ranks of Harrisâ inner circle in the years since. Since 2017, she served as a senior advisor to Harris in her U.S. Senate office and later in her presidential campaign. She was the first South Asian woman to serve as chief of staff to a U.S. Senator and was notably the only Asian American to serve in that role during her tenure.
During Harrisâ presidential campaign, she âmanaged and oversaw debate preparation, policy, communications, and operations for a team with over three hundred staff with a $40 million budget.â As chief of staff to Harris in the U.S. Senate, her role included directing legislative strategy and leadership on key committees. She is credited with âcreating a diverse and representative staff by developing a talent pipeline that led to the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies naming Harrisâ office as the most diverse on Capitol Hill.â
Kosogluâs career on Capitol Hill has also included positions with leading Democratic Senators, including Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.). During her tenure, she led negotiations on numerous bipartisan legislation, with a focus on the economy and health care. Most notably, she served as a key advisor during the drafting and passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010.
She graduated with honors from the University of Michigan and has a masterâs degree from George Washington University. She currently resides in the Washington D.C. area with her husband and three sons.
