Indian American Among Activists Who Painted Black Lives Matter Mural in Front of Trump Tower

Reshma Patel, a member of the Manhattan Community Board 6 joins New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, other Community Board members and Black Lives Matter activists to paint Black Lives Matter mural in front of the Trump Tower on 5th Avenue, July 9. Manhattan’s 12 Community Boards are composed of 50 volunteer members serving staggered two-year terms. Patel is serving her second term. She is also co-chair of Chhaya Community Development Corporation. Chhaya addresses the housing and economic needs for low-income South Asian and Indo-Caribbean New Yorkers.
