Legal Eagles: Three Indian Americans Among  ‘Top 50 Attorneys of San Francisco for 2023’

Three Indian American attorneys — Devang Shah, General Counsel, Pivot Bio; Jesal Prabaker — are among this year’s ‘Top 50 Attorneys of San Francisco’ list by Attorney Intel, “a comprehensive source for research and information related to law firms and the broader legal industry.” Describing San Francisco as “one of the nation’s most prominent legal markets, rivaled only by New York City,” Attorney Intel notes that it is “a thriving destination for lawyers seeking career advancement.” The city is “characterized by a dynamic business environment with a consistent demand for legal services, driven by a multitude of Fortune 500 companies and startups,” it adds. 

Devang Shah joined sustainable agriculture company Pivot Bio in March this year as general counsel. In his current role, he leverages his experience achieving successful public offerings for two previous companies and oversees all legal affairs. His leadership is instrumental in navigating the issues facing high-growth businesses and providing stewardship to high-performing, multinational teams. He began his career as an attorney at Skadden Arps, working in both Palo Alto and New York City. He holds a B.S. in civil and environmental engineering from Cornell University, an M.S. in civil engineering from Stanford University, and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

Jesal Prabaker is the general counsel of Marigold, specializing in SaaS, technology, and privacy law. Before joining Marigold in 2016, she worked as corporate counsel at Clearslide and In-House Counsel at AurionPro Solutions. She holds a J.D. from Indiana University, Maurer School of Law–Bloomington, and earned her bachelor’s at UCLA.
