Indian American Vijesh Mehta has been named CEO of EZ Texting, the company he co-founded in 2005 as a self-service marketing solution used by businesses to more effectively communicate with their customers. Mehta has held multiple leadership roles within the organization, including chairman and CTO.

Mehta’s appointment comes on the heels of Norman Happ’s departure from the Santa Monica, California-based company. He will remain as chairman of the Board of directors.

According to a company press release, Mehta has been “instrumental in the growth of the company.” He has helped the company secure two rounds of investor-led financing, driving the business to profitability, and promoting the cultural values enabling the company to receive several distinguished “Best Places to Work” awards in Los Angeles and Austin.

“Since co-founding the company all those years ago, this business, and our customers have been my focus,” said Mehta. “I’m excited for our next phase, and I‘m glad to help lead EZ Texting into its bright future.”

Mehta has over 10 years of experience taking web-based services to market and sits on the board of four major companies with web-based platforms, according to the company press release. “He also has extensive experience in shaping corporate strategy and exceptional knowledge of highly scalable software architectures,” the press release added.
