Indian Americans in Maine Join Vigil Against Anti-Asian Violence

Members of the India Association of Maine (IAM) joined hundreds of Mainers at the Payson Park in Portland, March 30, for a vigil against anti-Asian violence. “It was an evening filled with grief, hope, inspiration witnessing the vigil for the victims of anti-Asian violence,” said a post on IAM’s Facebook Post. Representing the IAM, Priya Natarajan talked about the possibility “to mourn and also to work towards repairing more than one thing at a time,” the Facebook post said. The vigil was organized by Unified Asian Communities, the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, and Portland Public Schools, News Center Maine reported.
