Nima Kulkarni Becomes the First Indian American to Declare Victory on Election Night 2020

Incumbent Member of the Kentucky House of Representatives Nima Kulkarni has declared victory in her re-election bid. She ran unopposed in 2020. Kulkarni, a Louisville immigration, employment and business attorney, was elected in 2018 and became then the first Indian-American ever elected to the Kentucky Legislature. Nirupama ‘Nima’ Kulkarni, 38, immigrated to the U.S. with her parents at age six from Jamshedpur. She represents Kentucky’s District 40.
