Zoya Akhtar Ropes in NextGen Star Kids for Netflix Series Based on Archies Comics

  • It’s been rumored that Suhana Khan will be seen as Betty, and Khushi as Veronica, Agastya will essay the role of Archie.

Zoya Akhtar has reportedly roped in Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Boney Kapoor-Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, in her next directorial, a live-action TV series based on the popular comic book Archies.

The series is said to keep the original characters — Archie, Reggie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, Moose, Midge, Dilton, Big Ethel, and Miss Grundy — with a desi twist. While there are no details about the other cast or the plot of the film, it’s being speculated that the plot could revolve around school life in Mumbai or New Delhi.

It’s been rumored that Suhana will be seen as Betty, and Khushi as Veronica, Agastya will play the role of Archie. This announcement puts to rest the speculation and Karan Johar, who has launched Khushi’s elder sister Jhanvi i “Dhadak,” would launch the two-star daughters.

Apart from the Archie adaptation, Zoya Akhtar is also creatively involved in the Salim-Javed documentary for Netflix. It’s said to be one of the most ambitious projects chronicling the journey of India’s greatest writer duo, with a co-production between Excel Entertainment and Salman Khan Films.

Additionally, Zoya Akhtar, along with Rema Katgi has co-written and will co-produce a road trip film, “Jee Le Zara,” starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. To be directed by Farhan Akhtar, the film will be made in collaboration with Excel Entertainment and Tiger baby Films.
