A Mention of Sadhguru in Credits in the Trailer of Jennifer Lopez’s New Film Sends Social Media Into a Tizzy

Jaggi Vasudev, now known as Sadhguru, founder and head of the Coimbatore-based Isha Foundation, will soon be making his Hollywood debut in a Jennifer Lopez film. The news came as a surprise to those who watched the trailer of the actor and singer’s “This is Me Now: A Love Story” which was dropped on Jan. 17. Sadhguru’s name appears in the credits, along with Lopez’s husband Ben Affleck, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, and Jennifer Lewis, among others. It also stars former monk Jay Shetty, who officiated the wedding on Lopez and Affleck last August, following their impromptu July Vegas nuptials, at Affleck’s family estate Riceboro estate in Georgia.

“I have not been this nervous, excited, scared and thrilled to share something with you in years,” Lopez wrote on X where she shared the trailer. “The story of the journey from This Is Me. Then to This Is Me Now is the most personal thing I’ve ever done,” she continued. “The musical experience continues February 16 when This Is Me Now the album drops.” 

According to the film’s synopsis the “Amazon original showcases her journey to love through her own eyes. With fantastical costumes, breathtaking choreography, and star-studded cameos, this panorama is an introspective retrospective of Jennifer’s resilient heart.” The 65-minute project will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Feb. 16

Sadhguru’s name in the credits sent the internet in a tizzy. There were speculations if the film would introduce them to Sadhrugu’s acting chops or will include clips from his previous talks. Many wondered wtf was Sadhguru doing in a JLo movie. A user told his followers to “be ready for his stupendous role.”

With his “penchant of putting his heart and soul into everything” Sadhguru does, a user said he looked forward to seeing him in the film. Another user hoped that the spiritual guru is “riding a motorcycle and doing cool stuff,” alluding to his passion for automobiles and his collection of swanky cars and automobiles. One user noted that Sadhguru made “a statement by not making a statement.” Another highlighted Lopez’s power “to get Sadhguru to star in your biographical movie.”
