Two Indian Students From Telangana Killed in Head-on Car Collision in Arizona

  • Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Parsi, both 19-years-old, were students at Arizona State University.

Two Indian students — Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Parsi — were were killed in a car crash in Phoenix City, Arizona, this on April 20. The accident happened when a Ford truck rammed into in a Kia Forte they were traveling in. The two 19-year-old were passengers. Originally from Telangana, they studied at Arizona State University.

The driver of the Kia Forte and the truck were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries but have been released, CBS5 reported. The cause of the collision is still being investigated. It is not clear if speed or impairment are factors in the crash.

In a Facebook post, Peoria Police thanks those citizens “that stopped to render aid” during the accident, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while the roadway was closed and while we conducted a thorough investigation. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everybody who rendered aid during this tragic incident.

The son of doctors, Mukka graduated from ASU with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science last year, according to his LinkedIn profile. He currently worked as an event manager “at connecting international communities,” his profile said. In a post on LinkedIn, he said his “big fish” are his parents and his elder sister,
