British Pakistani Singer Zayn Malik Pleads No Contest to 4 Counts of Harassment Relating to Gigi Hadid’s Mother

  • The former One Direction band member has reportedly split with his partner as a result of the alleged dispute.

British Pakistani singer Zayn Malik has pleaded no contest to four counts of harassment in relation to an altercation with his now-former partner Gigi Hadid’s mother Yolanda Hadid. The former One Director member was charged for shoving the Dutch-American television personality and former model into a dresser, following an argument.

Malik and Gigi Hadid have been together for the past five years and have a daughter, 13-month-old Khai. The two have reportedly ended their relationship as a result of the alleged dispute.

TMZ, citing court documents, revealed that Malik had gotten into an argument with Gigi Hadid on Sept. 29. The singer allegedly called Yolanda Hadid a “f****** Dutch s***,” and said that Yolanda Hadid must “stay away from [my] f******daughter.”

According to Rolling Stone magazine, the court documents filed in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, listed the harassment charges as “a summary offense, which is not as severe as a misdemeanor.” Each charge has a guilty plea, though according to a note Malik posted on social media on Oct. 28, he had agreed to plead no contest, meaning he did not admit guilt but accepted the conviction. “In an effort to protect that space [for my daughter] I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago,” he wrote. “This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there’s divisiveness and despite my effort to restore us to a peaceful family environment.” Additionally, he paid over $350 in court fees and fines related to the charges.

Meanwhile, Malik’s sister Waliyha also took to social media to support her brother. She shared some of their childhood photos with the caption: “Family. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all. All we need. @zayn you are so loved by us all.” She also shared a quote that read, “karma comes after everyone eventually.” She continued: “You can’t get away with screwing people over your whole life, I don’t care who you are. What goes around comes around. That’s how it works. Sooner or later the universe will serve you the revenge that you deserve.”
