Ajay Anand of Johnson & Johnson Named Inaugural Executive in Residence of Wharton AI & Analytics Initiative

- In his new role, the Indian American will collaborate with peers, students, and researchers to mentor the next generation of AI pioneers.

The Wharton AI & Analytics Initiative has named Ajay Anand as its inaugural Executive in Residence to bring industry-leading expertise into the heart of the business school’s research and student initiatives. Anand, who is the senior vice president of Global Services, Strategy & Business Services at Johnson & Johnson, will advise Wharton faculty in helping shape AI research to align with business needs; mentor students; and share insights at various panels and events.
In the new role, Anand will be joined by Achim Welter, senior director ERP, Digital & IT Strategy, The Hershey Company.

In a LinkedIn post, Anand wrote that He’s “excited to participate” in the program and looks forward “to collaborating with peers, students, and researchers to shape WAIAI’s future and mentor the next generation of AI pioneers.”
Anand has more than 26 years of transformational leadership, driving strategic impact across consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and telecommunications. Wharton calls him “a dynamic force in business and technology,” who has “led global initiatives that redefine industries.”
Anand holds two master’s degrees – one in business administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia and the other in computer science from Gujarat University in India. He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife and two daughters.
