Casual Girls Night Out: Padma Lakshmi, Daughter Krishna Make a Splash on Emmys Red Carpet

  • The Indian American model, chef, author, and host was nominated for an outstanding reality competition program.

Padma Lakshmi made a splash at the Emmys held earlier this week with her daughter Krishna Lakshmi. The 13-year-old Krishna was dressed in a strapless black velvet dress with feathers, while mom looked effortlessly stylish in a custom lime green Marchesa dress.

The Indian American model, chef, author and host shares Krishna, whom she often refers to as “Little Hands” with businessman Adam Dell. Lakshmi was nominated for outstanding reality competition program. The award went to RuPaul for “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet Lakshmi said she wants to enjoy Krishna before she goes to college.” I only have five years left with her, and that preys on my mind I think at different times in your life, there’s time for work and there’s time to take it easy. I think that I wouldn’t be here unless I had worked so hard and made some of the sacrifices that I have made, but I also think that now I do want to take it a little bit easier. I do want some more time.”

The mother-daughter walked the red carpet, as they posed with several attendees and took some selfies as well. The proud mom shared some of the photos of “the casual girls night” on her on her Instagram story. In one, Krishna is seen with “The Bear” actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In another selfie the pre-teen is seen sticking  her tongue out. “Girls night!! #Emmys,” Lakshmi wrote across the photo.
