Indian American attorney Sid Bahl lost his bid for a seat in the Webster Town Board in Upstate New York. Data from ABC affiliate WHAM 13 shows Bahl, a Democrat, got 17.61 percent votes, while his slate-mate, Ashley A Teague, received 18.90 percent. They lost to Republicans, Ginny Nguyen (31.32 percent) and Patricia Cataldi (32.15 percent).
âIt didnât go our way yesterday,â Bhal wrote in a Facebook post on Nov. 3. âIâm obviously disappointed, but I am also incredibly proud of the campaigns my slate-mates and I ran. Running for any public office is not easy. Itâs a huge commitment of time and energy.â
According to his website, Bahl, a first-generation American, âunderstands the importance of diversity and knows how powerful different perspectives can be and believes the townâs board should be representative of its residents.â
Bahl has served as a volunteer for Make-A-Wish Foundation since 2012. He also has a robust pro-bono legal practice through the Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County, where he has the privilege of representing indigent litigants in a variety of matters. He is very active with the Monroe County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association, where heâs served on various boards and committees.
Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Bahl and his wife, Tori, moved to Webster in 2016 and purchased their first home in 2019. The couple has two daughters – Rowan (2) and Callan (newborn).
He has a BSBA from Suffolk University (2010), an MBA from the University of Massachusetts â Amherst (2013), an MS in public relations from Syracuse University (2016), and a JD from Syracuse University College of Law (2016).
