Priyanka Chopra Jonas released the trailer of her latest Hollywood film “Love Again,” starring Sam Heughan and singer Celine Dion, who makes her big-screen acting debut. The film is a remake of the German movie “SMS für Dich” (Text for You), based on a 2009 book of the same name by Sofie Cramer.

Chopra Jonas plays Mira Ray, a grieving woman who finds a special connection by sheer accident after she sends text messages to her late fiance’s number, unaware that it has been assigned to a man named Rob (Heughan). “A journalist, Rob is captivated by the honesty in the beautifully confessional texts,” the synopsis adds. “When he’s assigned to write a profile of megastar Céline Dion, he enlists her help in figuring out how to meet Mira in person … and win her heart.”

Chopra Jonas’ husband, Nick Jonas has a cameo in the trailer. The singer appears in the back of a taxi with a less-than-pleased-looking Chopra Jonas, awkwardly trying to make a move on her.

The “Quantico” actress told People that “it was he was excited to do “Love Again,” which “tackles mature issues” and the “complexities” that come about during the “sensitive journey of finding unexpected new love while navigating grief.” She said she was happy to be able to do Mira’s character because she is just “a really sensitive, empathetic person who’s stuck in a place she can’t seem to get out of. And we’ve all been there.” She calls the film “our ode to Céline,” and calls having her new music “a blessing in this movie.” She said she was “so moved” by “SMS für Dich,” which is “about hope” and “finding love again,” as well as “having your mind open to the fact that magic can happen.”

Released by Sony Pictures, the much anticipated romantic comedy opens only in theaters on May 12.
