Kumail Nanjiani to Return to Standup Comedy With North American Tour 

  • Starting this month, the Doing This Again Tour begins in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 20 and ends in Portland, Oregon, on Dec. 1.

Kumail Nanjiani is returning to standup comedy after nearly a decade. The Pakistani American actor tour all over North America on his first ‘Doing This Again Tour,’ starting next month. “Check out my first hour of standup comedy in a decade,” Nanjiani shared on Instagram. “Say hi but don’t say that during the show. That’s considered heckling and it’s punishable by death.”

According to the New York Post, the 46-year-old, who “cut his teeth in the Big Apple in the late aughts,”  wont be performing in the city. The closest he will get to New York City is when he performs on Sept. 21 at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, according to his tour schedule. 

The Oscar nominee has recently starred in Hulu’s limited series “Welcome to Chippendales,” Disney+ Star Wars prequel “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and in Marvel’s “Eternals.”  He joined the fourth season of Hulu’s “Only Murders In The Building,” which was launched on Aug. 27. He will also join the cast  on “Poker Face,” the Natasha Lyonne detective series on Peacock, in Season Two for a single episode.

Nanjiani will next star in and produce FX’s “Homeland Elegies,” based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ayad Akhtar.He and his wife and Emily V. Gordon are also set to write the feature adaptation of “The Doubtful Guest,” a 1957 illustrated short story by Edward Gorey, in which he will also will star.
