Kumail Nanjiani has been cast in the fourth season of  Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.” He joins previously announced new Season 4 cast members Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, and Molly Shannon, currently in production in Los Angeles.

Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, the Emmy-nominated comedy follows Charles Haden-Savage (Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), three neighbors in a New York City apartment called the Arconia, who come together to record a true crime podcast about the murders of their fellow residents, for which they are continually framed.  Meryl Streep is also set to reprise her role from the previous season as Loretta Durkin, the love interest to Oliver Putnam. Produced by 20th Television, the series is coproduced by Martin and Hoffman alongside Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.

Details regarding the season’s plot and character descriptions remain under wraps. However, Variety reports that the new episodes will focus on “unraveling the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles-Haden Savage’s (Steve Martin) mind-bogglingly identical stunt double from his years on the series ‘Brazzos’ and its 2020 revival.”

Meanwhile, Nanjiani wil also be seen in live-action sequel to Sony Pictures’ hit film, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife.” Deadline noted that the film marks yet another big-achievement for the Pakistani American “who has been on roll landing big roles in major franchises. The Oscar nominee most recently starred in Hulu’s limited series “Welcome to Chippendales,” Disney+ Star Wars prequel “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and in Marvel’s “Eternals.”
