Desi Karen: Fiji Indian Woman on a Racist Rant in California Parking Lot Caught on Video

- Natasha Chand, 34, a senior relationship banker at BMO Bank, is seen hurling the N-word at a black woman nine times in just 12 seconds. She could face charges for disturbing peace and challenging to fight in public.

A video showing a racist rant by a Fiji woman of Indian descent in a parking lot in Pinole, California, has ignited widespread outrage and prompted a hate incident investigation by local authorities. The woman, identified as Natasha Chand, was recently filmed hurling the N-word at a black woman nine times in just 12 seconds. Â
The viral video shows Chand, 34, sitting in her car when Jazlyn Garcia and her sister emerged from the Pear Street Bistro on April 13. The restaurant shares the parking space with BMO Bank, where Chand works as a senior relationship banker, according to social media. Her Instagram as, anahksunahmunah, was identified as a senior relationship banker at BMO. Other reports identifying her as Priya Sharma or Preet Gupta, a registered nurse at Kaiser in Pinole, were found to be inaccurate.
Pinole Police told the Daily Mail that Garcia and her sister didn’t like the way Chand was looking at them. They confronted her and started recording as Chand started mocking Garciaâs appearance, and telling her to “get out of my face,â and calling her a âf**king n****r.â The Daily Mail described Garcia as a âblack/Mexican.â
The â15-second clip widely shared online was just a tiny portion of a longer video shot by Garcia’s sister, Pinole Police Sergeant Justin Rogers told The Daily Mail. He said the police would submit a report to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office âto consider disturbing the peace and challenging to fight in public chargesâ for both Chand and Garcia.
But this won’t be Chadâs first brush with law enforcement. She was previously arrested on Feb. 4 in a separate case after allegedly robbing an Ulta Beauty store in nearby Concord, California, four times, The Daily Mail reported. She faces felony grand theft and second-degree burglary charges and three counts of misdemeanor shoplifting. Sheâfaced court in Martinez, California, ⊠for a felony readiness conference, just hours before the racist abuse,â the report added.Â
